Job Description
To ensure proper online coverage of the activities of GDMO’s key stakeholders and issues pertaining to the city of Dubai, the role holder is responsible for selecting, editing, and proofreading the appropriate content from various media sources (other departments as well as newspapers and other submissions) and uploading it through content management systems. The post holder is also in charge of advising other editors on how to properly place the major players in the GDMO in new media platforms. Additionally, the post holder contributes design suggestions, interacts with other departments about technical concerns, and creates specialised analytical reports. The post holder is required to perform his responsibilities in compliance with the pertinent corporate rules and procedures.
Key Activities
Takes part in the creation and execution of the Media Services Department’s budget and plans in accordance with organisational goals.
Follows through on the directives from the New Media Section, ensuring that work procedures are efficient, giving leadership, and being facilitated in order to meet high performance requirements.
Ensures that the New Media Section complies with organisational policies, practises, and quality standards.
Social Media Content Management
By editing and proofreading the reading of Arabic News and sending the text for translation, one may alter the content of specialised new media (online) services as well as websites of important stakeholders. uploads the text, images, and videos to the website with the appropriate captions, as well as scans local newspapers for stories on the important stakeholders and uploads those as well.
Receives and reposts news on a regular basis while doing simple text and video editing (format adjustments) to prepare them for proper submission to web services.
Edits content given by key stakeholders, uploads it to the web, and modifies its length (texts for social media are shortened) to match the type of new media channel being utilized.
Posts links to many sources to make it simple for the city of Dubai and its institutions, as well as the major stakeholders in GDMO, to access material that has been republished throughout the various new media platforms.
Both static and dynamic material is supported.
