The Temporary Foreign Worker Programme (TFWP) and the International Mobility Programme (IMP) are two of the major initiatives that award work permits.
The TFWP awards work permits to applicants whose employers get favourable Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA).
When an LMIA is approved, it is confirmed that a foreign worker is needed to execute the activity at hand since no Canadian employees are available to do it.
IMP work permissions do not require a favourable LMIA. They do request that the business publish an employment offer on their employer portal.
Canada grants two different kinds of work licences: open work permits and employer-specific work permits.

The TFWP consists of four streams: live-in carers, seasonal agricultural workers, high-skilled employees, and low-skilled workers.
Before entering Canada under the TFWP, foreign employees must obtain a work permit and an accepted jobs offers.
