Terms of Reference:

Job Description:
The UN General Assembly founded the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 1950. The organization’s mandate is to protect, help, and look for long-term solutions for stateless people and refugees. In other cases, UNHCR has also assisted internally displaced people by improving their protection and offering humanitarian aid.
Typically, a more senior Protection colleague receives reports from the Call Centre Assistant. The incumbent will offer telephone counselling to individuals. Interviews for first protection may be conducted by the incumbent. Writing notes and documentation regarding the interview is part of the job description.
The incumbent makes sure the call centre runs smoothly by creating daily, weekly, and monthly reports on its implementation, making sure the team is fully informed about the services and assistance that are available, setting up appointments, giving general information to Persons of Concern (PoCs) about the services and assistance that are available, responding to queries from PoCs regarding the status of their cases, and forwarding cases involving protection emergencies to the appropriate staff member or unit. Additionally, on occasion, s/he might help with in-person therapy with refugees at the UNHCR Reception Centre.
